Frost Schnee is based off of the fairy tale The Snow Queen, where a piece of the shattered mirror of evil lands in a young boy's eye, turning him harsh and cruel. He is then swept away by the Snow Queen, and it is up to his female companion to save him from her clutches. Frost's first name gives of an impression of frigidness and the cold whilst his last name litereally means "snow" in German, corresponding to the young boy's nature after the mirror shards transformed him. His weapon, Sprode Spiegel means "brittle mirror" in German, referencing the mirror shards in the fairy tale. His upbringing is somewhat similar to the Snow Queen's doctrine, where she tries to turn the boy into a harsh cold being.

The name Sacnite means "white flower" in Mayan. Sacnite is loosely based on a crane's story in Assiniboin Native American folklore, where the mother crane leaves her child with an otter when migration season comes, for the young crane is too weak to travel the distance. After her departure Osni' (cold) came, killed the otter, and abducted the young crane. But when spring returned, the mother crane killed Osni' with a clap of thunder and a strike of lighting. Sacnite's semblance is electricity generation that produces a gray-blueish electricity, and her weapons, Ch'ak and Hubi mean "Decapitation" and "Destruction" respectively in Mayan, both traditional weapons of the Mayans as a nod to her Native American/Mayan background.

Demonic Hooks are the hooked bladed heels that Pearl parade around whenever she is seen. They never leave her, and they fit her close-combat style perfectly along with Angelic Elixir in its bladed form. When sheathed, the hooks are pointed upwards in a stylish fashion, yet just far enough to ensure the blades would not harm their owner. When unsheathed, the simple tip of the hook can leave nasty scratch wounds if one is not careful.
